John is a 1973 graduate of Harvard Law School. He embarked on a legal career after an abbreviated career as a detective and Sergeant in the New York City Police Department. Prior to concentrating on matrimonial matters, John's legal experience involved litigating complex commercial cases and defending white collar criminal prosecutions involving securities law violations. He has extensive trial and appellate experience.
While the major part of John's current practice involves matrimonial matters, he also represents clients in residential real estate transactions, wills, executive compensation matters and negotiating employment and severance agreements.
John's matrimonial practice involves negotiating and drafting both pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, resolving or litigating custody and child support disputes; divorce mediation; high conflict, high net worth divorce litigation; collaborative divorce; post divorce litigation; and appellate practice. While he always seeks, initially, to resolve his clients matrimonial disputes in an amicable manner through negotiation, the collaborative process or mediation, he will not hesitate to litigate the matter if necessary. John has extensive training in divorce mediation and collaborative divorce.
Born in New York City, John has resided in Westchester County with his family since 1986. He served on the Board of Education for the Bryam Hills School District in Armonk, New York for 9 years.
